Lens centers and visual axes come from an independent µCT eye specimen. Hexagons are schematic glyphs, not segmented lens boundaries. The MaleCNS mapping is a best-effort visual-axis registration.
Flattened charts use measured azimuth and elevation, unwrapped separately for each eye. Equirectangular projection distorts areas and angular distances; it is not a map of retinal surface shape.
Activity comes from the isolated eye frontend: photon rates, photocurrent and its own photoreceptor voltage. This is model output, separate from the coupled full-connectome membrane trajectory.
Recording source & interpretation
Coordinates: +x forward, +y left, +z dorsal. Left and right refer to the fly. Color uses one fixed range across all times and all five classes of the selected recorded quantity.
